Ferrari 599 GTB (BEST LOOKING FERRARI EVER?)

With the release of the 599 GTB Ferrari is presenting its most powerful V12-engined production car of all time. The new car is a concentration of Ferrari's most innovative and technologically advanced engineering solutions applied to a mid-front engined two-seater coupé. The result is a new benchmark for performance, driver involvement and design.

The Ferrari 599 GTB boasts class-leading power thanks to its 5,999cc V12 - derived directly from the Enzo Ferrari supercar - which produces no less than 620hp at 7,600 rpm for a weight/power ratio of just 2.6 kg per horsepower. Ferrari has adopted the latest evolution in its tried and tested all-aluminium construction technology for the body and chassis.

The unmistakable Pininfarina design gives the Ferrari 559 GTB aggressive yet elegant lines which are perfectly integrated with the advanced aerodynamic solutions adopted to reach the performance figures attainable. This new model is the symbol of Ferrari's production - the V12 berlinetta - and represents the latest interpretation of a theme that has seen such classics as the 250 GT, the 275 GTB, and the 365 GTB4.

The Ferrari 599 GTB replaces the last in that great line of berlinettas, the 575M Maranello, of which - together with the 550 Maranello introduced in 1996 - no fewer than 5,700 have been produced, a record for this type of model for the Prancing Horse.

The new car will be officially unveiled on the 28th of February 2006 at the Geneva Motor Show.

It's by far not the best looking Ferrari ever, it might be the best looking Infiniti,Nissan,Lexus ever though....but not even that....it's just an ugly car.

By replacing the gearbox with some paddles, and running the handling off some fancy electronics so that even a 5 year old could look like a driving-god?

The design is just horrible. A completely incoherent mess.
    Thanks for all the fish

My ass that 599GTB is ugly. The best looking Ferrari has to be the F50. Why didnt they just call it the 600 GTB?

    5,999cc engine, therefore 599
The F40 is 100 times better looking than the F50, but it's all a matter of opinion so I don't see the point of us arguing over it

I reckon it looks great. Also, it's best not to comment on safety systems you haven't tried - the Ferrari ASC programmes are actually very good.

Not the best but far from worse

This GTB seems beautiful and no doubt it is worthy of the GTB line. Of course, if you consider a 250 GT or GTO, a 465 or a Daytona, the newcomer is far from the best looking Ferrari ever. But, for me, is has everything to be considered the best looking one of present production...

It's a pitty that some people resume Ferrari history and beauty to performance affected examples, such as F40 or F50...even Enzo did much better and simpler...

What Leo wants to say is that currently Ferraris are being judged by their raw performance. The GTB seems to be perfroming and at the same time civilised.
