this kinda stuff has been planned for ages, they wanna use them to shoot down missiles, which could potentially avert nuclear war, which can't be a bad thing. If the US starts zapping things rather than trying to blow them to pieces with 2 tons of steel dropped from 10,000ft they might actually hit their targets, rather than blowing up a whole street of civilains

Yeah I agree with all of you. These things should be banned. The arms race will never end. It started with guns, then atomic bombs then this? The logic behind it is to hope to have more lasers than the other country but there's no reason we should move backwards towards world peace. This only makes things worse.

whatever they build, in the future computers will take over control of it. People say at the rate computer intelligence is improving, in 20 years or so computers will be just as smart as the smartest human. Mixed with the fact the humans are creating E.I.(evolving intelligence), we are creating our own demise.
