I'm the same as you but the opposite, When i drove the Territory i had trouble in the night with the windows, My brother had no problems as his car was the door also.

I find it handy when its in the middle. It means the front passenger can take care of the windows, which is handy if there are children in the back and the driver doesnt need avert thier attention from the road.Originally Posted by ADRENALINE

Children arent always in the back though, which makes it a nuisance (like the radio) if theyre up the front.

Kids should never touch anything in the car, Fingers may be broken.

The Jeep has a electric window panel on the drivers door, so I can look after all the windows.
The BMW has a central electric window panel, next to the Shifter. Both of them are easy to use (And central panels also have them on the Doors in the rear, so they can use them without leaning away from the window.
interestingly enough, the rear lap-sash seatbelts in the BMW come out from the centre of the car, instead of on the C-Pillar as i'm used to. It's quite strange.

Dad's M3's like that too, dunno if its because its technically only a 4 seater or not...but seems to be a common thing. Maybe they think its easier like that for getting out of the car

From what I understand it's a safety thing - the Seatbelt latch is easier to access for firefighters/rescuers if there has been an accident. they can cut the seatbelt or whatever easier.

Is it the new disco that has rear passenger controls for windows and stereo? Thats bad when the kids are in the car.

Theres probably an override, my brothers has the power windows in the centre and its also got a childlock for in the back, which you actually have to switch on to allow the windows to work, not vice versa

In 10 years we will have voice activated windows
So to lock from passengers is to lock from the driver to unlock from passengers is to lock from driver is to lock from all to unlock fro driver is to unlock for everyone.
