increasing power of a naturally aspirated engine

what are the easiest ways to increase power on a naturally aspirated engine ??
dont say s/c or turbo cuz that kinda makes it not n/a anymore

changing the cam profile, reducing resistance in both the intake and exhausts, cold air intake, variable valve timing, variable length intake
reprogramming the ecu, boring the block, inreasing compression ratio with aftermarket pistons and conrods, reducing drivetrain losses wif lighter pulley's clutch, flywheel, wheels, tyres, increasing rpm through stronger crank and con rods, nitrous ect.

    did i miss anything??

also what modifications would be in order to make sure all the power and torque become usable and not reduce reliability ??

new cooling system would be in order due to extra heat generated, high flow fuel pump will prolly be needed, stiffer suspension setup, more powerful brakes, aero kits for added downforce and lower drag

at this point ive realized that ive gone far off topic and will shut up now

i personally think the best way of increasing a cars performance at minimal cost is decreasing the weight...other than that i think you have mentioned everything... i am sure others will come up with more...

That was classic, New Yorker says "there's no replacement for displacement" while the European says there's no replacement for less weight.

Only thing that was missing engine wise was to use proper fuel. I've seen several independent reports that say Optimax gains a few hp but I don't remember if that was only on turbo cars.

port & polish the head, port matching intake/exhaust, better oiling system to reduce friction(dry sump vs wet sump), stronger spark, a rearend with a gear ratio that matches the engine power(higher usually gives more torque(acceleration) but less top speed, also goes along with the drivetrain).

but you got most of it

How about a turbo or blower.

Adding on to your list, a good iginition system, multispark unit like a MSD, good distriburator or equivelent, and good plugs(indexed). Also proper carbs/ injectors. Decking or "skimming" the head will also increase compression. Smoothing and lightening the crank will help a bit also good studs to hold the mains. If applicable for OHV, roller rockers and the proper girdles to hold those in if you are going high rpms. Another thing would be stronger pushrods.

Using a thinner head gasket will do the same at considerably less effort and expense.

Decking a head would cost about 30 dollars, and since you would have the head off the block to port it, there is really no extra effort. Also, are thinner head gaskets available for every engine?

i was poitning out that Knife already said adding displacment (boring the engine means increasing the bore size) and then coolieman said he forgot.
