I haven't paid any attention to this battle, as I try to keep away from them, but I'm sure both sides of this argument will be amused to find Mr. Rumsfeld comparing Hugo Chavez to Hitler.

and some folks still don't understand how the normal complaint about only favouring "free" eleections if they get the preferred person into power as begin hypocritical.

It's statements like those from Rumsfield that damage the reputation of Americans

no, we would all get our guns and shoot the **** out of the chinese... we have 4 guns, my grandpa has 2 in his car, and a bunch at his house...its typical to have at least one gun in the house, so if you figure one gun per household, two million households (2.5 people per house ) in houston alone, plus the other 23 million of texas, you begin to see wehre it would be hard for them o attack us, not to mention the armed forces

ok thats the end of me stereotyping my own state, consider yourselves lucky you witnessed me do it!

To clarify, the ones I mentioned from a few years ago applied specifically to whether America etc could successfully defend Taiwan against China, if the latter imposed reunification. It had nothing to do with any attack on the US mainland

Anyway, why would China (or anyone else) initiate any attack or invasion of America through military means. They're doing well enough via economic, so why kill the goose that lays their golden egg?

If you want to portray some one as evil, slap hitlers face on him, it always works.

Why is that on a San Diegan site, i get that newspaper and didn't seen anything about it.
I love San Diego, the city with 3 Mayors in one month.
And all you people in Arizona, stop cloging our beaches in the summer!
If you get called a "Zonie" in San Diego, its not a good thing.

Now in china's case, im not sure how industrialized they are, but if their Govt. devotes to much resources to weapons and not people(rice and shelter and schools and rice) then i fear a chinese revolt, it would be a disaster, possibly a 5 way civil war or something.

I only offer my opinion and it only matters how much you make it.
Three Words - Made In China.

Almost all computer parts are now assembled outside the US, if the US and China do enter an arms race, one can only assume that all the manufacturers of these products will not be shipping them to the US.
