    You can't chrome a carbon tub.....plus chrome coating is heavy as hell...

    special paint no doubt...

    it could be silver paint with chromium added to it

    It is (literally) blindingly obvious that this is just Mercedes super-shiny paint, similar to that which they've been slapping on their concept cars for the last year or so.

    Apparently McLaren will have a chrome livery for the 2006 season. Obviously they were thinking that they introduced something new, but here is the 1964 Watson Special, as shown at Laguna Seca last August in its original livery.

    It looks 'riced' in the studio shot.. too much 'bling' on that car. I'd bet it will look stunning on the track though.
