    Seals - WARNING!

So, Canadian stick-weilding types have killed a million seals in the last 3 years. Should they be stopped, or is it just a case of "well, f*** 'em, they're only seals"?

Is it OK to do this?

    your thoughts??
Cedric - I sound like a chipmunk on there. Some friends of mine were like, "were you going through puberty?" I was like, no I was already 20, I just sound like a girl.

I'm not into the killing of these poor seals. But I can tell you that if I was to find someone who killed a seal, I'd kill em.

So what..some people are sick, i'm sure u English do ur own Sh** that wouldn't be very popular. I say it is a shame but get off us canadians and stick it to the hunters...

I am also pretty sure there is some serious steroptyping going on here. Besides that fact, you some how say it like its our fault? You also give no explanation. I am pretty sure there is alot of poaching in America and in england as well...

I don't have any stereotype thoughts about Canadians. But if Canada is that good and has low crime rates, how can it be that there are people walking around who molest and kill around 300,000 seals every year? That isn't very modern, is it?

Every country has some skeletons in the closet. It is all the same to me if it's Canada, Belgium or Burkina Faso we talk about. I'm against this, just as I'm against general hunting or kill animals.

Damn man, that's really gory. If I were to hunt or kill I wouldn't mutilate it like this. A life should be respected.

Im not pointing fingers at all Canadians here, just a general comment about society. Its sick isnt it? There are so many 'civilised' nations that carry out the stupidest, most pointless activities without thinking straight. Do any of the seal clubbers stop and realise just what the hell they're doing? Its quite sad to see that human nature is still very primitive....

    I find it despicable.

I've loved seals since I used to play with them when I was a little kid- up in Scotland, they had really tame seals.

They're the gentlest creatures around, and they should be left alone.

Who cares if they eat fish? They were there first.

I believe so. The fish count is low, so they kill the seals so there's more fish for us to eat most of, then throw away when we're too full.

    Disgusting.

They are killed for their pelts.

I don't agree with the way they are killed, I think it should be done more humanely and instead of the carcasses left to rot, they should be turned into dog food or whatever. Its a shame to see an animal killed for just its pelt. The other issue is that quite often it is the younger seals slaughtered and not the older adults.

People have to make a living, if nobody bought seal fur they wouldn't be clubbed.
