I came to the conclusion that conventional engines and brakes are for pussies.

I was thinking that I'd like to experience that, until the 2 minute mark...

Was initially for a pretty crazy tactic ! ( land/take-off in a football stadium )

Strapping a 8 JATO up beside the pilot I never thought was a confidence builder for a mission !!!

I think the JATO system has been tried since the late fifties, or early sixties.

As Jet Assisted Take Off for sure Pieter, been around for ages.
Germany used it on many of their planes in WW2.
But the extreme goal of SO many on a C130 and for such a mission was just insane

    ANyway, moving on ....

Was watching "MegaFactories" varioius car factories these last few nights ( thank you bittorrent ) and they talked of Iron Man movie issues and foudn this to share

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pau8D24asjs"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pau8D24asjs[/ame]

If I'd been Audi marketing I'd have been running a whole ad campaign around safety using that footage

THe other noticable comparison with other factories was very telling.
EVERY other factory has big jigs and pulleys to fit/remove/fit the doors on their cars. Audi has a guy lift it and carry it --- testimony to aluminium lightness

Was surprised to see an Audi factory with only one robot in it !!

No. Honda, Toyota and Datsun kicked their ass much of the next 20 years.
On the other hand, consider the Detroit boats most Americans preferred. That worked out just fine.

I do wish the SVX had been better received. Probably the coolest thing Subaru ever offered until the WRX.

My neighbor had a SVX. Cool car indeed.

Subaru is doing fine actually, as compared to Mitsubishi's motoring division.

    A kinda 2-for-1 here

What hillclimb is like in the UK ... AND ... the Atom V8 ... all courtesy of fifth gear ....

( Though Gurston is quite a long run and has fairly easy straights needing grunt more than outright handling
