This would be way more than a Supra successor. It's more of a Ferrari 412 Italia competitor, while the Supra was more of a 300ZX/Corvette competitor.

And for once, I have to admit- Toyota's more exciting than Honda.

I meant psychologically, as after the Supra we won't have something better the the MR2 or the Celica T Sport.
Surely this is such more than a Supra, and it seems better looking too.

This is more like a normal cabin of a car made of carbon rather than Enzo or Zonda where their construction is more akin to a tub of a race car. with a massive 2 halves joined to make the tub. This is actually made in large sections(where a normal car would be a stamped metal piece) then joined after....With normal-ish door opening and packaging rather than the racecar-like kind of the packaging of those uber exotics....

This kind of construction I can actually see being used in mass production...They can conceivably replace the pre-preg section and may be the RTM section and replace those with metal structure and make the C-SMC section(which is essentially injection molded) and use that to replace a lot of metal in a car. Concept wise this moves composite material use in mass-production closer to reality....

You'd have to go through a coachbuilder probably to get that interior. And yes, we do get the Civic Coupe, but that's really nothing on the Type Rs, even the British Type R is cooler looking than the Si. And probably slightly better performing too.

I'd like to have the Civic Coupe over here, it's been a decade if not more since last time.
On the other hand, I saw just one 3 door Civic of the last gen, and it was a Type R.
It was..ugly. While I like the design of the Civic and its detailing, the Type R is just tacky.
And I don't like to say that.

IIRC we only had the Civic Coupe once, the one from two or three generations ago. It was only available with a 1.7 litre petrol engine and nobody bought one. So in the end it was quietly retired and never seen again.

My main criticism with the Civic aren't the looks. You can have hot hatches that are far more tacky, but the fact that they made us put up with a torsion beam rear suspension when everyone else gets the full IRS.

Should be the one with the same chassis as the Rover 2xx Coupe, I think it had two engines over here, the second being a 2.0 liters, maybe. No Type R of course.

It still goes well though, so I'm fine. It was probably a way to keep the price down. I don't think buyers avoid it because of that, but the fact is I only seen 1 (silver) car, and much more units from the prev gen.
And it's really ugly. Maybe in black or white I'd reconsider it.
In a period when everyone is adding more bhp and turbos, keeping the engine stock from the prev gen, even if perhaps a sensible choice, has been a complete marketing mistake, especially when the car weights 60 kg more than the old one.
