    F430 CS - Spy Shots

Ferrari F 430 Challenge Stradale Spy Photos

    100 kg lighter

Ferrari is preparing the launch of the super sports car F 430 Challenge Stradale at the Paris Motor Show coming fall. The car is set to rival Porsche’s upcoming GT3 RS, which is equally due for launch this year.

The Stradale is about 100 kg lighter than the standard F 430. While the latter is powered by a 4.3 litre V8 engine producing 490 HP, the light weight Stradale‘s performance is said to rate around 520 HP with the same engine.

The photos are showing a prototype during road testing in Maranello. The pictured test car still has some tape at the front end for disguise. At the rear end clearly visible, the exhaust pipes are located further up in the middle and not on the side like in the F 430

surprised to see the 4.3 litre engine in there, as the current GT2 cars run 4 litres, which seem to be better harmonising with the restrictor rules...

Seems once again the Ferrari will have the GT3 RS beat in the power ratings

Hopefully the Porsche will be lighter and more agile.

This is turning into the Evo vs Scooby battle, but with supercars instead!!!

Well despite the name implying otherwise the car has nothing to do with the GT2 cars, plus I think that the special 4-litre engine found in the race cars must quite expensive to retune and produce it for road going car.

unless they need it as a homologation special, one of the reason why we get to see all those various Porsche models

Yes but somewhat the car is already racing so I'm assuming that actually a new car isn't required to homolagte the new special engine. I suppose that within a limit you can modify the engine, maybe that also includes the cubic capacity of the engine.

About the Porsche I suppose that it would make no difference if the racing car was based on the GT3 or the GT3RS, I see the GT3RS more as a marketing gimmick than anything else, though admiteddly an exciting one.

Hopefully there will be some more changes to the outside of this car...

still not a fan of the F430s styling...
    the 360 looks far better...much cleaner lines/shapes
although the rims on this one look amazing

id take the suspension and engine from this thing and put them on a standard 360 Modena
    that would be amazing

To call it a 430 CS is a bit confusing because obviously the car pictured is much more race worthy than a 360 CS.

The pictured car is a 430 Challenge, not a Challenge Stradale which would imply street version. IMO.
