Dave Grohl to meet trapped miners

    http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,19034051-2,00.html

FOO Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl has sent a message to the two men trapped down in a Tasmanian mine offering to have a beer with them after they are rescued.

Mine manager Matthew Gill said today Grohl had contacted him after learning that one of the trapped men had requested Foo Fighters material on an iPod being sent down the mine.
Mr Gill - who earlier this week mistakenly described the Foo Fighters as a country band - said Grohl had offered to have a beer with the men once their ordeal was over.

Asked how Grohl had learned of the iPod request, Mr Gill joked it was probably because he had described the Foo Fighters as a country band, and Grohl was seeking to "correct the record".

The men have been trapped 925m underground since a small earthquake on Anzac Day triggered a rockfall, killing their colleague and trapping them in a small cavity down the mine.

A 16m escape route is being painstakingly tunnelled toward the men, who have now been in the mine for more than 10 days.

Mr Gill said the miners had asked if the offer to meet with Grohl was a genuine offer. He told them it was and the miners said they would like to meet the rock star.
Mr Gill plans to relay the message to Grohl.

As an aside, notice how that dirty chameleon turd Bill Shorten has (ab)used this event as a virtual media assault to thrust his ugly mug onto our TVs throughout this .. extended .. coverage

I saw an interesting Cartoon in the Canberra times today with a hand, reaching through the hole created for food/water/iPod's/Insert your brand here powdering the nose of one of the miners.

It's turned into a media circus, but I still hope they get out safely. Namely once their out of the mine they get through the Media crush safely.

I bet 7/9/10 are going to thrust contracts into their face ASAP.

I reckon the funniest thing is that one of them asked for a paper so he could look for another job, that's just awesome

IIRC, Ghrol was just a guest drummer for QOSTA.

Correct. Both the Foo Fighters and QOTSA played the 03 BDO, when QOTSA were touring Songs For The Deaf, but Grohl didn't drum for them live, which would've been awesome
