    Oh really?

After they've shipped the plant over, what factory will Holden use to build its own cars in? Maybe an abandoned chook shed might do - or somewhere out in the open-air using rocks and sticks for tools?

    Haha nota...

The earliest thats been mentioned for the GTO returning is 2008, and that seems dependant on how the resurrection of the Camaro goes

That new GTO was a waste anyway. They could've taken some time and come up with a real design rather than stick a pontiac badge on a Holden. What a slap in the face to a legend car.

    Here we go again

Gotta love the final two generations of US designed GTO. Second from last was that fat ugly pig based on GM's bloated Colonnade and the final GTO was a tarted up Chevy Nova

    Legendary stuff

Anyways i look foreward to a very agressive looking beast coming out of Pontiac, and lets hope that Caddy gets a small 2+2(sorry but four doors don't do it).

that's bassicly what we do in the states, except we don't get any fancy sticks, we have leaves, and a rock for the whole plant, but we have to share the rock.

And the Monaro is every bit a legend of a car in Australia, Now should we talk about slapping

    The GTO,

at least gave America a V8 rwd muscle car. GM USA had lost it's way with virtually everything being fwd and V6 powered.
The basic problem with it was that the design was very understated in a country that likes overstated looks.

The Pontiac treatment to the front-end did it no favours either.

Holdens, or the HSV GTS (UK) version, started being imported in 1999 I believe.
One or two were the VT-I version and the rest were LS1 powered I think.

So how many posts is one supposed to make before being allowed to?

I really don't consider the new GTO to be much of a true American car.
