I remember back in the day Sportscompact Car took a stock Nissan Sentra(I think a stock high 15 sec car and stripped it of seats, trims, sound deadening and a bunch of other stuff, without adding any other mod, and ran 14s with it. So do that to a 14sec stock car and you may get a 13s car.....lol

Ok, in all seriousness, your best bet at a cheap 13 second car would probably be a LT1 Camaro or Fomula (can be found for around $5000-8000), with some sticky tires will be mid 13s. Or a 5.0 Mustang with some mods and sticky tires.

The cheapest is probably an eagle turbo talon with a different turbo and alot of boost. Another way is as slicks said buy a 5.0 mustang and theres alot of parts around to mod the engine so its cheap.

LT1 no, talon def not. slicks is right on one thing tho. a 5.0 mustang. you can pick up a fox body for next to nothing all day long. put a cam and some gears in it and welcome to the world of 13 second cars. hell..its almost too easy to get them into 13 sec. territory. high 12's can be had very inexpensively with a fox body mustang. just go out and find yourself a nice 89-93 fox body LX notchback.
btw- a second is a long time in the 1/4 mile. theres a big difference between a 14,13, and 12 second car. and once you start getting into lower numbers things really get difficult. theres a HUGE difference between getting a car to run 10's and one that runs 9's.

Why no LT1 F-bods? 13 second cars out of the box, and you can find then cheap in good condition with decent miles.
