Why don't people just buy racecars? The Ultima, and the rest of its kind seem stuck in some "twilight zone," neither racers nor everyday drivers, nor sports cars... Seems sort of pointless really in a world full of used racecars into which somebody could bodge damn near any engine they wanted.

But the ultima is quicker than it is stupid, and I guess that's always going to count for something.

I like your logic, except for the big hole.

If you have an ex-race car and you want to do track days you need a tow vehicle and a trailer, instead of being able to drive the car to the track.

As an added bonus with the Ultima etc, you can go out for a spirited drive any time you like on the public roads; you don't need to live next to a circuit.

Therefore you don't need to buy a race car, trailer, tow vehicle + another sports car to drive on the road.
    Thanks for all the fish

Based on that, what happens when something like the GT3RS or F430CS IS driven to the track?

EDIT: Let's add MRFQ400 to that as well, since none of the above are turbo-charged.

Clutch, the question came from Coventry's post below.

    Note: "You'd need a trailer..."

So I was asking what'd happen if you didn't use the trailer.

yeah but then you asked about what happens if you drove 3 road legal cars to the track?? Cov's post was in relation to actual racecars, like formula 3 cars etc

I don't know, I thought he was talking about track cars that are road legal but are meant mostly only for the track.

And my post was one on concern. For example if you drove an FQ400 through heavy traffic about 20 miles to a track, would the clutch need "cool-down time" when you got there? The stock clutch harnesses a lot of power...
