Between the STI and the Evo I would still take none. I prefer much more something like Porsche Boxster/Cayenne or a BMW 130i if it has to have 4-seats.

Until you get it too the track apparently. It had a rather poor performance at MOTOR's Euro PCOTY round. A lack of rear suspension control brought it down a few rungs from how they liked it in previous road tests.

I'll add to that. Unispiring, uncomfortable, expensive, cheap feel, crammed back and you get to be in the "I-Bought-It-Because-It's-A-BMW" group even if you didn't.

Fairly intresting point. Id gladly take the STI over the evo anyday theres alot more avaiable here for subarus and like wise the dealerships have better acesess to parts....that and i like the subaru better and have drivan a few.

Given the rest of those choices id perfer the corvette wouldent drive it much though and id probly get an older wrx to drive around in.
Lifts heavy things and hits hard......also eats as much as 2/3 people and sleeps 10 hours a day!

In my opinion it only has two saving graces, that straight six engine and the rear drive chasis, everything else could be scrapped, including the badge...

How about a Lotus Exige? Has less space, but who cares?

for the same price as a sti, i'd build a really good GT40 replica or two shelby Cobra's...

And a heftier price tag, however a Lotus Elise would do nicely if you don't need the sapce. Or a Mazda MX-5 if you want a little bit of comfort...

The problem is, how much are you really paying for the engine and weight distribution and how much are yuo really paying for the badge?

Admiteddly that's a problem, but here in Europe the 1-series is the cheapest four seater RWD car, so what can we do...

Lots of four seaters, just no four doors.
