And maybe if the car actually had paddles, that'd be true!
All LP640s have been made with a 6-speed manual transmission.

It is upon request that the E-Gear system which features a new option be installed instead.

Well actually 70% of Lambo owners rather prefer to change gear themselves with a gear stick and a clutch, so this one could very probably be a proper manual. Compare that to only 10% of Ferrari owners optiong for the proper manual and things start to get clear...

Odd, I remember it being 60% ticking the F1 option in Ferraris? Though I think that may have just been for the 430

Well thats a lot more recent than my info. Plus as the article was about the F430, I'm pretty sure the 60% was for the 430 only. With the 575 and 612 included I could see it being that low a take up on the good ol' stick and left pedal.

Exactly! Who wants a 599 when you can have an LP640?...

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say not the Car and Driver test drivers. Unless the 599 had its traction control on permanantely

I think we should broaden the spectrum...

Why have a visually challenged (read ugly ) car instead of one of the most outrageous cars on sale?

More when the LP640 seems to have regained Lambo's old visual madness...

If I followed it correctly, the story with this incident had the guy crashing the car on the way to it being tested by various auto journalists. The driver wasn't the owner and probably unfamiliar with the LP640. Being entrusted with such a car you'd think they'd have someone who could find his @ss with both hands deliver the car, but this guy managed to have an "accident".

The comment about the flappy paddles was a poke, a joke at the drivers incompetence and how he managed to wreck. Clearly he must have been overwhelmed with the Lambo...

As for what type of transmission this car has you can only guess as it isn't mentioned anywhere, but from one of the pics it does sort of look like its equipped with e-gear.

I know, but I thought I'd just shre the info of the majority of Lambos being sold with proper manuals. To be honest I was suprised when I read it.

Most Murcielagos are sold directly from the factory with a 6-speed manual. It's the Gallardos that, like the F430s seem to appear mostly in E-Gear and what not.

    I've only seen 1 F430 on the web with a 6-speed. The rest, I've spotted F1 paddles.
And to be quite honest, I don't think I've ever recalled spotting an E-Gear equipped Murcielago in person.
On a side note: Lamorghini of Dallas currently has,

7 Gallardos out of 13 Gallardos equipped with a stick.
So, Lamborghini owners of Texas seem to like their sticks.
I can't give any info on the Murcielagos being there aren't any used/new ones listed. I think the dealer is currently waiting on the arrivals of the LP640.
