    wierd dashboard lights

some dashboard lights on my brother's accord have gone on that shouldn't be on in regular operation

the handbrake indicator stays on even when i fully release the handbrake, the rear brakelight indicator on the dash is on, even when i'm not stepping on the brakes, and all 4 doors are apparently open according to the dash but ofcourse they arn't in reality ...

i was wondering if anyone has come across a similar problem before, and the casue behind it and cure if you know

thank you all for your posts

Damn idiot lights. First thing that would come to mind is a relay problem or a fuse problem.

Sounds like your brother's car has a short someware, just take it to your local shop, shouldn't be anything more than that.

last time my dad's abs light was on when nothing was wrong it turned out to be a faulty computer. They wanted to change it but we said no..it was overkill just for a single light malfunction

It may be a bad ground or short. Find a wiring diagram and see if those lights, or systems, have any common wiring.

Otherwise, you've got individual problems in all those systems. The parking brake indicator staying on usually means a base brakes problem. You'd really want to get that checked out.

Check your brake fluid - some cars have this as a warning it has hit the empty line...
