Alright brain... you don't like me and I don't like you... but lets just do this...
is it just med or cant i see the SLR mentioned anywere....??
Aint Nothin' Lika A Benz....
Maybe because the SLR wont be a classic? It's a disappointment because with McLaren involvment, you'd expect it to be a bit more exciting and raw (and lighter for that matter). It's not so much a remake of the 300SLR as it is parody of it To most of the people I know, the SLR is like buying an Armani jacket, and when it arrives, it's pink.Originally Posted by Souljah

I don't reckon the latest Superamerica will be a classic: it's too much like a special edition, the 550 will be though.
I'd definitely go with the ClioSport too - probably the 172 Trophy has the most potential...

What about DB9?
Or an Enzo? ( I don't like it, but with this whole "you have to be chosen to buy one" thing, it has a great potential to become a classic car)

I don't think the DB9 will be a classic, it's too conventional - good but not groundbreaking.
Enzo I think is too much 'of the now' to become a Classic car. As much as I love it, I think it will start to look dated very quickly.

Hehe we are on the oposite sides here because:Originally Posted by MrKipling

Ok then, how about Veyron? (It's not at all conventional and it is groundbraking)

Now really: does any of you really think that any car that is exotic today won't be a classic car in the future? How can an Aston or an SLR, any Ferrari or Porsche not be a classic car in the future? Of course they will. I think it's pointless to name exotic cars, because obviously those will all be regarded as something very special and valuable, from the minute they come out of the factory. All of them are special cars and all of them are rare compared to normal cars, so it's obvious they will be expensive and very desired in the future
I think what is interesting is to discuss is what relatively common and affordable cars will get become collectable or valuable as years go by.
