I think the 599 would win, does the 911 even have a weight advantage since it has awd? If not i don't see how it could beat the ferrari around anything but the tightest and most technical tracks. The gtb would kill it in the straights.

I've read nothing but rave reviews about the 599 GTB. So, I'm inclined to choose it over the Porsche. I'm sure the 997 Turbo is fabulous also.

What car would win? What does it matter? Say you had a chance to test drive both on a track. It'll be up to your own driving skills what car you can make go faster around the track.

The F1 is a supercar, and both the Ferrari and the Porsche have similar performance.

Evo didn't go bananas for it - they said it was a bit of pain.

I was reading some comments about the 599 earlier today, saying that it had been designed to be "more fun to drive" than an Enzo, and that the engine had been detuned "for reliability".

I'm not sure it is good PR for Ferrari to be saying that the Enzo isn't fun to drive, and is unreliable.
    Thanks for all the fish

I heard that the engine had been detuned becuase of the cooling. But everything which makes Ferrari sound a little stupid is fine by me...

The 599 looks better and has a bigger engine , but the Turbo is a one hell of a ride and has rear seats .
However , a Turbo with the sport chrono package will not be a much less performer than the ferrari .
personally i will go for the porsche .
    can Desire be engineered ?

I like the 599 GTB better, because it's just magnificient (althought the 575 looks even better IMO). That being said, the 997 is a very impressive car too.

Around a track I'm quite confident in the 599 beating the 911. But, I'd rather own a 911.. I think. I've never seen the 599 in the flesh so I might change my mind in the future.
