Locost 7 - Very informative locost 7 design information
Puma racing -- This is a cylinder head tuner, I'm not vouching for his work, but take a look at his information on engine tuning etc. further down the page.

The magnum opus by Laurence Pomeroy "The Grand Prix Car" is back in print and you can also order a copy on CD Rom. It is available from Engineering Information Services, I am sure you will be able to google their co-ordinates.

This thread isn't doing very well; so some text books for you.

I suggest buying; Tune to Win, Engineer to Win, Prepare to Win; all by Carroll Smith.

These are the first really techie books I ever read, and they are still the best.

Others in my collection (that I can remember off hand are) that are worth a read;

"Race Car Aerodynamics: Designing for Speed by Joseph Katz - way too many references to many other unobtainable books for my liking which means subjects are skirted over rather than explored. Learnt more from Mulsannes corner (but then that is an excellent website)
"Competition Car Downforce: A Practical Guide" by Simon McBeath - I'd say this was better than the above.
"How to Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn - Not bad but prefer carroll smith.
"Fiberglass and Composite Materials" byForbes D. Aird - very good
"Competition Car Composites: A Practical Handbook " by Simon McBeath - As good as the above
"Competition Car Suspension" by Allan Staniforth - Not bad but prefer carroll smith (again!).
"Engine Management Performanace Tuning" by Dave Walker - A VERY good primer.
"Race and Rally Car Source Book" by Allan Staniforth - Very interesting details build of own hillclimber the terrapin. Left me wanting more.

Currently awaiting Chassis Engineering by Herb Adams.

Anyone agree with me - or wish to suggest any.
