    honda fit price!!!

ok i went car shopping yesterday, and i went buy the honda place to see what fits and civics they had in stock. at the time they only had 2 fits and four civics.
well i was really shocked to see just how much they are making up fits. a $16,000 fit sport was marked up to $24,000!!!! . the civic EX that was next to it was 21,000. now i know that some places to make up rare cars such as the fit but a 5,000 market adjustment that’s just stupid. thanks rant over. what do ya'll think of the fit??

You haven't indicated which country you live in in your profile, so prices are pretty much meaningless to us.

thanks for the input, im in the US, texas, i have seen three so far. i know that more than likely i will be able to get the price down a bunch, but i hate the fact that car places make you go through that to get a decent price.

The prices of the Jazz (Same car in Oz) are somewhere in the $16,000 - $22,500 mark over here. So with the exchange rate, it seems as though you are getting mightily screwed over. But I know it isn't as simple as that.

With gas prices these days in America of course they are going to jack up the price for every vehicle that carries high mileage ratings!

I remember when the Pirus first came out my local Toyota dealership was asking for $35,000 for it. It was the last one they had and believe it or not when I went back two days later and it was sold (not sure if they sold it for the same price though).

Yeah, I've heard prices were moved up due to the speed they were snapped up at. I've seen a couple where I am.

I haven't seen any yet. I think they're cool. The markups suck, though. To pay a premium for an econo car, something is just wrong with that. Might make me check out the Versa.

The Versa isn't out where I am yet. I think the Versa is the biggest econobox compared to the Fit and Yaris.

    check the nissan canada website

the prices are comprable to the fit's

but the versa has an SL model which has alot more kit, sun roof, bluetooth options ... etc. ON AN ECONOBOX !!!

the only thing that kept me away from it was my distrust in nissan interiors and the fact it's made in mexico ...

the SL model is definitely worth a look if you're planning to spend up to 20,000 on a car of thsi type

the versa is the other car that I have been looking at, from the car and driver test that they had the versa got second behind the fit. also i went to the nissan place to check the price there. right at sticker! $15,640 no mark up. the versa dose have alot of stuff that comes with it. like a keyless entry and a 6 speed. and it is bigger. I think that the versa is more the commuter car. the fit would be much more fun to drive
