Why would you compare a coupe to a sedan? Seems strange to me, but I'd get the Phaeton because it's rarer.

No, he's talking about the Flying Spur- which is the Continental GT in 4-door form. It's also a re-bodied Phaeton with a slightly better chassis...

Isn't both a four seater though? It's just that the other has two extra doors.

    I didn't say 4-seater- I said 4-door.

I know that, but since both seat four it really wouldn't make a difference, it's just a preference of whether you want a couple inches of headroom and legroom and an extra two doors.

I'd consider it rare because the Phaeton is out of production and the Continental GT Flying Spur still is.

I'll take the Phaeton. I saw a Flying Spur the other day and contrary to what I thought I'd think when I would see it in the real world, I found it rancid.

The Phaeton is at least honest, not pretending to be more than it is I do not like it's iceberg weight, nor the interior, nor the handling but as a used V10 diesel it makes a lot of sense for someone driving a lot (especially in Germany). I find the Continental, on the other hand, to be a totally missed oportunity. It should have IMO have been based of the A8 spaceframe, if at all based on anything existing, powered by something different and bespoke inside. From a design point of view Bentleys were not really made or known for their colossal front overhangs, before VW came in

There's a point- the mighty V10 diesel is a stunner!

And I agree that they were a missed opportunity... and also lacking the sense of occasion that old Bentleys had.
