    Why are we in Afghanistan?

    Just a snippet of news:

"Puppy production in Afghanistan higher than ever before"
The farmers will be left alone, out of fear that they will join the Taliban....
One of the strong points of the Taliban was the abolition of the opium production...

Conclusion. The drug industry has managed to bring democracy to the Afghans and now safeguards the supply lines to the Western markets...life is fun these days.

    Strangely, no.

We have been through 6 of the little buggers though.

Being more serious; as I understand it; we're in Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban.

    Again.

Apparently the operations started in 2001 were so successful in defeating "terror", that the British government, headed by John Ried ('cos Tony's on Holiday, and John Prescott is stuck somewhere) feels that we should repeat the exercise...

And what a success it was. I haven't seen a "terror" for years.

Which brings us back to puppies again, as the woods where all our puppies were regularly walked are now being combed by the police for evidence in the "alleged" plot to blow up trans Atlantic flights...

    It's a funny old world...
    Thanks for all the fish

We're in Afghanistan because America obliges us to

Our asistance in facillitating vastly increased opium production in Afghanistan is somewhat ironic, given that Australia is the world's largest legal supplier of opium (grown here by two US-owned companies, Johnson & Johnson and GlaxoSmithCline)

I guess the international demands imposed on other nations by the US via its terror-laden War On Terror compulsary mandate now takes precedence over their idiotic and equally failing (and similarly obliged) War Against Drugs

to remove the terrorists that we created in the 70's. So 30 years from now we will have another war where we will replace those people with another, future set of terrorists

I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

The U.S. wanted revenge and the Taliban stuck their idiot heads up.
