There's also a thing called fit and finish that seperates it from the weak shit boxes.
You mean like the interior in the new Jetta compared to the new Civic? I'll take the Jetta.
Also, there's a little technology called VTEC or VVT-i.
You don't need VTEC when you make a decent amount of torque all across the rev range.
You may have heard of it.
    Unfortunately, yes.
Unless you are too ignorant to know see past your lovely European cars.
    They are lovely, aren't they?

There's also a car called the Honda NSX-R. It can smoke a Ferrari 360 Modena,
At the end of the day, you'd still be driving a Honda. Which sounds better as dinner conversation? "I drive a Ferrari" or "I drive a Honda."
but you're too high on European fumes to care.
    And they smell damn good.

even if it is, it's still miles ahead of euro brands.. european cars are pretty much bottom of the heap now for reliability

It's how people are though. That's exactly why VW could only sell 1200 Phaetons in the US, even though it was comparable to a Benz SL at a huge discount. Image is everything. Right or wrong, that's how it is.

Once you start working on cars you realize something. All cars are garbage. They're designed to break. A life cycle in built into every part in a car. There's a reason I just spent $30,000 to learn how to fix them.

So while your junk might look nicer, cost more, go faster, or get better reviews in a magazine, remember- it's still a piece of crap.

yes, but i'd rather that cycle be three years than say, 5 min (looking at you, Mercedes/VAG/BMW/FIAT)

Honda has a small economy car image, while acura has a more upscale luxury image.

I understand that. I thought Bluey just meant, throw in the 2JZ (No SHIT!! Fast n' da FuriouZZ) and you have a 7-second Corolla. However, as he has pointed out in the post above me, it would take some massive tires, hardcore clutch/trans/diff setup, forged internals, etc.
