    Opel Manta A - 1974 ? Anyone out there ???

OK, been offered an Opel Manta as a second car for the post-historic rally team.

We'd been looking for something different as everyone runs minis and escorts.

I know the Manta Bs were more successful, but does anyone have any experience ( or photos ) of Manta As in competition.

We've checked lots of manta a web sites trying to find out what's available for tuning etc. Thought it worth asking here for some of the 'old farts' who might have experienced seeing/driving them.

Will it prove an expensive and difficult to source parts option ???

    Anyone ????????????

You may want to look at the "Holden Torana GTR XU1", it looks a lot similar to the Opel Manta A. Maybe our Aussie members can help you.

May be technical parts used in the Rallye Ascona's might be useful as well.

BTW the Manta is not taken very seriously in Germany, and a lot of jokes seems to circulate about it. The shortest one I ever heard was:

A Manta is parked in front of the University.
