i don't exactly know, i just heard that when going uphill for many years- (eg. 7-8 years) that the transmission wears out faster than say a Corolla
goign up hill, when i was in trinidad once, about 10 years ago, we were goin to the beach so u gotta over a mountain and we rented a shitty car, a car that was sooo shitty, 5 ppl in the car wit A/C wouldn't make it up

No one told you to go up a hill in fifth gear.
But seriously, any transmission is going to take a beating especially if it is an econobox if you're going up and down steep grades. If you didn't want premature gear wear then get a Hummer for pete's sake.
