Because it's quite dangerous and leaves him very vulnerable to talk about a friend leaving.
I'm going to eat breakfast. And then I'm going to change the world.

He's not the only one, I just haven't commented yet.

My best friend moved to Ohio in 5th grade, it sucks man. It really blows, but you can visit, and you'll get over it pretty soon anyway.

Between the internet, phones, snail mail, smoke signals, messenger pigeons, and floating a message in a bottle... It shouldn't be hard to keep in touch with him.

    Thank you too.

My Porsche and Matt here at least understand what it's like losing a best friend.

If all you macho acting men think that because you don't cry when you lose a friend, you're the shit, you're very very wrong.

Let me give you a few tips on how a man should be.

I don't think in any rule book it says that a man is not allowed to cry or feel absolute solitude, I think all it states is that a man should be a leader and not a follower, and should act like one, therfore acting as a person with more strength and less vulnerability to the sore things in life.

As far as I know as well, you prickfaced idiots, the majority of females on this planet are attracted to guys who are willing to share there pain with them, and nmot seclude it and pretend like it's not there.

Just a few tips for you, maybe you'll consider them before acting like prude cavemen.

Myspace friends count right? If so I have like over a hundred friends.

No but for serious, I know its hard to lose a friend, I lost my seven best friends to move to college and my special girl of over a year and a half.

I would get him something he can use in college, something simple like a Wal-Mart gift card, posters to decorate his dorm, porn....or maybe something more sentimental like a picture of you and him with or without your ladies in it too.

ScionDriver just made a new freind... don't move away
The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four Americans is suffering from some form of mental illness. Think of your three best friends. If they're okay, then it's you.

Feelings are best displayed in person. I don't think I'm unsensitive but these comments certainly hold little regard for my feelings on the issue.

    It's not Machismo. believe me.

The fact remains he took a joke at the beginning of the thread out of context and got sensitive about it. Again why share such feelings with a group of total strangers, many of which you've annoyed or alienated?

In my life I have moved away from So many friends I've lost count. It hurts. Badly. So much so that I have trouble getting close to people for fear I'm just going to leave them again and go through the same whirlwind of emotions.

Your talking to the wrong kid about being unsensitive, believe me.

Matt youre reaction is completeley over the top, 6 speed is going on like this is a massive tragedy, his friend is moving away, hes not dead, they can still keep in touch. Friends come and go all through life, its just another chapter in ones life. If thats the biggest tragedy 6 speed has to worry about, well then he is truley blessed.
personally friends are great, that dont compare to family though IMHO

Is it like this: When you say sensitive, we all should cry?
You are not my fukcin master you know!
Who are you to say what i am or not.. Just becease I don't get sensitive when you say your friend is moving away I am a bad person now?
    YOU DON'T KNOW ME!!!!!!

I think you my friend is posting all this emo crap on UCP these days just to get sympathy.. and turn everybodys eyes away from the fact that you in under one week claimd to own a RX-7 and sell it the same week, and all the hard talk you get about it.. ( And I don't believe you!!)

And when you post in a forum on the net.. what do you expect?
There are aboute 3500 active user here.. Someone will say something you don't like, always!

And by posting personal stuff, the replies that don't suite you, will turn into personal attacs in one second! Take it as an advice....

My close group of friends consists of 11 people: Alex, Dave, Zach, Mike, Dan, Anthony, Lauren, Courtney, Danielle, Ashling, and Ryan. Sure, I talk and party with more than 50+ people in my area, but of those 11 close friends (we 'hang out' every day), 7 of them have/will have left to college out-of-state. All that's left is me, Dan, Anthony, Lauren, Courtney, and Ashling. Lauren, Courtney, and Danielle leave for college within the next week.

Let me break it to you here chief, but, I haven't cried, and I won't cry. It's a way of life, something that comes with change. Sure, it sucks, but I don't like being called a 'macho prick' and what not because I don't react the same way that you do.

But, to change sides here.. Matt does have a point. Guys, take it easy on him, it does suck losing a very close friend, so the forum shouldn't bombard him with insults and immature remarks.
