My result is very moderate 175 Km/h on my VW Golf III.
But most impressive speed experience is definitely ca 130 km/h on my first own car - [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaporozhets"]ZAZ 968M "Zhaporozhets"[/ame]. The engine roared madly, I had feeling that right now the machine raises wings and tears off the ground. Young and stupid as I was in 1990 Two months later the engine needed replacement. Fortunately it was very simple.
4th gear, 170kmp/h in my soon to be 27 year old falcon. Pushing it on an un-used straight coming back from parents batch somewhat close to our capital Wellington.
Miscommunication seems to be a direct result of misplaced, text based sarcasm.

160 mph (258ish kph) 2000 WS6 Pontiac Trans Am. On 465 Indianapolis In. Is the fastest I have ever driven. 126 mph (203 kph) 1989 Honda Prelude- this car was the fastest i ever drove a car that I owned.
170mph in an e30 BMW. Wind noise was very loud, i couldn't even here the engine!
about 136 mph in my (engine-swapped) Opel Commodore on the Autobahn. Was a great feeling. Until i was suddenly overtaken by a Golf
Diesel?

Visca Catalunya!
I can only think of one occasion when I put my foot flat to the floor and tried to see how fast I could go in a car. It was not long after I got my licence, and I was driving a Holden Premier (a six cylinder one, not a V8, and it was a 1969 or 70 model I think) and, by the time I decided to apply the brakes, it had reached somewhere around an indicated 95 mph. I didn't want to push it any further because it didn't sound very happy at that speed and it looked like I was going to run out of straight road anyway....
