Its a sad irony that the car Peter Brock died in was built by Pete Brock in the USA, apparantly they were great mates too.

Well both Chipp and Thiele died from natural causes. Irwin and Brock both went from fairly freak accidents, and definately werent expected.

I still can't believe both Steve and Peter are gone in the same week.

When I got home this afternoon my brother said to me "Peter Brock is dead, he hit a tree!" I brushed him off...I completely thought he was joking, like it couldn't possibly be true. Five mins later I saw it on the news and I was speechless. The exact same situation happened when he Told me about Steve Irwin the other day...

Does that make it less of a tragedy for the friends and family because they were simply old and ill? They were all iconic australians. As I sad, we have lost too much this week.

True, but no one on Earth expected Peter and Steve to go this week.

A truly great guy has departed us. First met him in the late 70's...last time was in the mid 90's......a passionate, down-to-earth guy who had all the time in the world for his fans.

My younger brother is quite distraught......my Father died in a car accident in which my brother was a passenger as they were travelling to Bathurst to see the great man again in 1996.

His most treasured posession is Brock's personal 1983 hat, signed for us after the podium presentation.

Long may the memory of Peter Geoffrey Brock remain, we the Lewis family will never forget you......

April 21 2005... the only man to beat the journos to the bar after the race.

Had a heart attack during a test session, pulled the car over and died - a f*cking legend to the last.

    RIP.

My condolences to every Australian on their losses this week.

ps. For those who didn't know him, I would compare Brock to Shelby in the US. A great motorsport personality and as a result a great loss.
