Our friends have gotten some information of the upcoming NVIDIA G80 and it appears that G80 gonna be unified shader after all. It should be pretty close to the truth and it explained the mystery of the strange DRAM capacities that INQ reported previously. Expect G80 to be out somewhere in mid November along with Kentsfield.

The 7900GT isn't gonna stay in my rig for more than a year from now!!

    Dream on!!

I bet the price for the GTX would go down to about $400 by then, I'm gonna wait for the GX2 while upgrading other parts of my rig one by one.

It could be possible since my brother discovered that I could work at Subway doing stocking stuff for minimum wage ($5.50 a hour I think...) I would work 3 hours a day 3 to 6 pm, and 4 days a week Now I just have to go get an application I'd just have to save up for 2 months, but it would be worth it.

Edit: supposedly the 8800GTX will be twice as fast an ATI Radeon X1950XTX...

You actually want to save for 2 months just for a video card?

    But, but, a video card?

    I don't know, I wouldn't do it.

Agree.....I only save up extra money that I don't use, although I rarely use any money at all.

You have a reputation of having wetdreams about computer hardwares, amigo.

And man I doubt it would be any faster than a 7600GT in your computer. I suggest you start with a new motherboard, and so on. And hopefully you get stuffs at your level of knowledge, for example if you wanna try overclocking, start with an easier board like Asus.
