    Comp 86 Weekly Automotive

    Congratulations to Sauc3 for winning comp #85






    • The deadline is Sunday
    • The proposed picture must be your own and not found on the net.
    • The photograph must be taken no earlier then 3 months before start date
    • Only one photograph per person and weekly contest allowed; you may not change your photograph once it has been entered
    • The photograph must be the original upload and not edited in any way other than to resize.
    • The photograph must be attatched using the UCP system.
    • Your image must be a resolution of 800x600 or lower. If it is not, your picture will not be in the voting thread.
    • Each photographer cannot vote for himself, they must vote for the others.
    • Any users who enter and vote for themselves automatically recieve a 2 week penalty from the competition and all votes previously given to his/her photo are removed.
    • The entry must contain the following information in the same order:

    User name
    Name of car
    Where taken (or event)
    Date taken
    Camera type & name

    Correct color balance in RAW conversion. The red seems more vivid, because the background is really dark and create color contrast.
    It was a difficult day to take photos, due to rain and light conditions. I was holding my umbrella at the same time...

    That's what I was thinking. I think the photographers that shot in JPEG should be allowed to edit contrast/saturation. Just in order to be fair towards them, since those who shot in RAW can do it with impunity.

    I think that too, because saturation and contrast are relative settings and depends on camera procession. It's also possible to do that in camera parameters, but you have less control than shooting RAW.

    ...and I'm sure a large part of the entrants edit their pic despite the rule.

    I suggest this :

    • The photograph must be the original upload and not edited in any way other than to resize. Contrast and saturation adjustments are tolerated, provided that the changes are slight cannot be noticed by someone who didn't see the original picture. In case of doubt about the modification's depth, the organizer can ask for seeing the original picture and determine whether the picture can be submitted or not.
