While it is unfortunate that you made such a rask and stereotypical statement, but what you have just said is completely correct. Race and Religion are two totally different things.

Way to completely miss the point of my argument, braniac.

At what point in my post did I indicate that I didn't know the difference between a race and a religion?

My argument is that whether it was "race" or "religion" you were referring to is a completely moot point. "Racism" is a form of negative stereotyping of people of a particular ethinicity. In that respect it is in practice no different to stereotyping someone negatively on the basis of their religion. Whether you want to call it "racist" or something else doesn't make what you said any less ignorant or offensive.

You are all just desperatly trying to "defeat" the "racist" you've branded based on a complete and total lack of understanding of what a race actually is.
We're the desperate ones? Are you sure you're not just "desperately" trying to back-pedal and take some sort of non-existent intellectual high ground, after making what I'm sure even you now realise was an offensive and spectacularly ignorant smart-arse comment? Nice try sonny.

Just to let you know, Jews are a race, Judaism is also a religion... and they can be mutually exclusive... (convert to Judaism, but not be Jewish by ethnicity..)

Why do we even talk of race and religion as differentiators. it's that sort of 'us and them' mentality that breeds racism, mistrust and misunderstanding.

    We're all human.

Viewpoints like these are exactly why the whole cartoon thing was ever an issue to begin with. The fact is that it's a joke. Take it a face value and move on with your life. If you think it's funny, laugh. If you don't, don't laugh.

I'm not saying that you aren't allowed to think like that - as long as you see where everybody else is coming from as well.

I might laugh at Atheist jokes, but for some reason there isn't as much humour potential in atheism.

That said, I laugh at all religous jokes - I might laugh at Atheist jokes too, but for some reason there isn't as much humour potential in atheism.
Exactly! I'm a twice a year Catholic (Christmas and Easter) And I found the Jesus picture pretty funny. It's only the die hards that make a bid deal about it.

But, would you start a riot? No, Christians would probably take that in stride, or simply tell whomever brought it to their attention how offensive it is. I don't know, I certainly would destroy anything over that, I must admit that I laughed a little at it.

Once fanboyism infects you it impares all your judgement.
It's like being drunk, you lack common sense and everyone laughs at you.
