The sagaris already has an I6, why make an I4 and a V8 when they struggle developing the speed six alone?
    PPC - Put a V8 in it!

My informant (thank you for the proper word) is someone very close to the factory - but a promise had been made not to gallop outside the track. Done so, it is on my account.
According to my informant, it is not sure that Ricardo will do the speed six, although it sounds logical if they will do. So, you could be very correct on your side. My informant is a sales specialist, not a technician.
This sales specialist states clearly that models like Cerbera, that showed good (sales) potentials were only available rhd. Just an example.

The only thing I try to do is to get something straight. My informant is somebody from TVR - not a by-passer. A fact remains: the factory is closed down.

And yes, I think your idea is worth more than a penny.

Smolensky is a Russian entrepreneur. They (Russians) have a totally different approach of doing business. They want to deliver the ultimate perfection. The Russian labourer is obedient and following. Most probably there is something like a clash of cultures here. I have been working with Russian Principals so I can tell first hand.

I do not think that Smolensky's step is wise. TVR is a British car, and nothing else. TVR is definately a car with a future but when you rob it from it's heritage, the whole issue could become counterproductive - like what you said.

Am I still drunk, or did you simply fail to comprehend my point. I was saying that TVR should BUY OTHER PEOPLE'S ENGINES. It works for so many other small manufacturers and worked for TVR in the past. Now, the I4, in my previous post, was intended for the smallest, lowest cost, base model car. The I6 for a car comperable to the Sagaris, and the V8 for the Tuscan.

I refuse to explain my logic, that would be insulting to your intellegence. You must research TVRs of the past to understand-I'm sure you are capable.

How does the Blackpool factory not have capacity when they are forced to lay-off workers due to lack of demand?

If it was as simple as "just selling more cars", why would TVR would have done it already?

    You are joking, right?

How come some of TVR's most successful (in terms of output) days were during the '80s and '90s when there was virtually no exporting of cars at all?

They had a good, desirable product in the Wedge, Chimaera, Griffith & Cerbera - because they virtually owned the market for that type of car with a specific level of performance at a certain price.

These days mainstream manufacturers are muscling in on that market - cars like the Boxster S, Mercedes SLK 55 AMG, BMW Z4 M Roadster - cars that cost a little more, but offer the same levels of performance as TVRs do, with a reputation for quality, solid manufacturer back-up if things do go wrong, and much better levels of specification, and that don't depreciate like a missile that has been transformed into whale/bowl of petunias that has suddenly found itself falling out of orbit, etc.

The lack of interest in TVR is because TVR has been surrounded by rumours and uncertainties, compounded by a singular lack of information from the company - aside from the odd interview/Press release saying "Everything's fine, honest!" - which appears to have knocked a lot of confidence from their existing customer base, and has put off potential new customers - who are easily tempted into something a bit more sensible.

TVR already has a V8, a very good one at that. Unfortunately it doesn't comply with emissions regulations.

I don't think that buying in engines would be a brilliant idea, especially as TVR is so "proud" of the fact that it has its own engines, and is therefore truly "independant", and would not be reliant on supply from another company that could be withdrawn.

However, TVR was also very "proud" of the fact that was "British", so "proud" in fact that they declared that they would absolutely not move outside the UK... oh, hang on...
    Thanks for all the fish

As I have been told, TVR employed around 280 staff. The last production was something like 3 cars a week.
TVR maintained always the approach of "order and we will make one" - there was never some kind of stock and attached to this approach a deliverytime of at least several months had been the result.

Smolensky's present attitude shows that he has no real idea what to do now.

I think TVR is already dead.

Perhaps, however, at least, it will never be forgotten.

They spread the word that they're gunna kill themselves
Kill some emos for your revenge.
    1. They're worthless
    2. The irony of watching them turn from 'omg I'm gunna kill myself' to 'ARGH! dont kill me! I dont wanna die', would be fascinating to watch
    3. You could make a youtube video of it all, and it would likely be the next big thing.
    Why wouldnt you do it?!?
