That really could happen to anyone, even at 65-70 that would be bad news!

odd that he was just tooling along with a video camera rolling... also odd that none of the other traffic seemed to have an issue negotiating the oil...

In the comments he states he was going to a trackday and therefore had the camera. Also the oil might have been on one lane only, so the car he passed was fine? It was really disconcerting that the car just dropped away so quickly and without notice, there was no revving, no warning of breaking traction, nothing...

Regardless, it was a good piece of driving and lucky he didn't end up worse.

Wow... that could have been a lot worse.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

    doubly lucky I reckon.
To get it back in control and to NOT have crashed whilst not wearing a seatbelt !!
A perfect example that refutes the whole "I'm a good driver and don't need a belt" I reckon
    Lesson everyone ????

That is not true. He wears a seat belt,as you can observe in the video when he needs to take it out in order to exit the car.

Luck was crucial, but there is a lot of experience and skills in his driving.

Here it is the final version of the video with all the details including a slowmotion:
