picture look good, (technically speaking ).
Are the inner parts of the car as bad as the outside or is the engine a runner?

I can't see how that really matters. I mean, you are going to put a rover V8 in the front, aren't you? It's a Clubby! They were born to be V8 powered!

(In the front, I might add. Not one of those weird Mid-mounted RWD ones.

V8????? hmmmm not sure bout that........ i choose life, but thanks for the advice

the engine does turn over and will need a radiator pipe and then i will be able to get the old girl ready for starting. thats not my biggest problem, it's been sitting under the pine trees for about 11 years too long, the old girl will be hard to get going.

there is quite a bit of rust in the rear where the water has been running in so yeah, i hope it can be saved it would look dead sexy with a British Racing Green body and a Metalic Gold roof, a set of 13 inch wheels, and the engine bored out from 850cc to 1350cc. ahh it's the dream

that's pretty much exactly what i am doing to mine lol, except roof will be white and engine will be bored out to 1300cc's only in the interests of strength

1300cc is weak. You have to either go for the 1460 or 1380 bore.
I have a 1380 in the works for mine, muhaha.

Depends on how crazy you want to go with the motor. 1380 is pretty crazy, you can pep up a 1275 so you don't really have to do any boring, just headwork/cams/valves, and a better crank.

Have you considered induction as well? If you're actually gunna haul stuff, the extra torque would be a welcome addition!

Looks like it could be a fun project set realistic goals, and you'll be fine. The price for classic Minis has gone through the roof here. I saw a 1994 Mini Cooper, nothing special, for £6,000- that's AU$14,000 or so.

As far as I'm aware, once you get past 1340, reliability goes out of the window. My mate had a 1380 with stage 3 head, roller rockers and various other whatnots, it was great for a short while, but it just became a pain in the arse very quickly.

The induction might be a little much. It takes about 3 seconds to find out what the weakest part of your motor is.

Think of it as a relentlessly self-improving project, then

I have seen supercharged ones before.
