I don't like hockey, but it was cool how the NY Islanders, NY Rangers, and the NJ Devils all made the playoffs. Let's go Rangers though.

I actually thought it was quite cool as well. I also like how the teams are "more even than ever" in the way that the teams making the playoffs for instance vary greatly from season to season, there are no longer clearly superior/inferior teams.

I was 7/8 in the first round, only getting Atlanta / NY wrong. I pciked Buffalo, Ottawa, Detroit, Anaheim for this time.

Pando, do you get the games over in Finland?

This isn't NHL but it is hockey - Finland won 4-2 (including a empty net goal) over Canada in the IIHF Men's Hockey Championship exhibition game. Damn Finns!

    Congratulations on the victory. Grumble.

EDIT: This is my 911th post - I just posted my 912th. This is signifigant because Porsche rocks.

All I hope that Detroit is going to kick some ass...

BTW, we can watch all the games since we got some special pay-tv so we can recieve TSN, CBC and ESPN. Really nice

Unfortunately not on the channels I have access to at home, and as the games are played mostly between 2-6 AM here, it's not like I would usually watch them live even if I could. I usually just rely on teletext and highlights from TV/net.

That game I *did* watch. Keep your eye on Peltonen in the Championships as well. We'll need a thread for that before Friday.

The CBC is so horrible. TSN is pretty good though - and I am liking CBC's new time/score/teams indicator.

Detroit are going to the cup to face Buffalo if I had to guess - very strange that it is 1 and 2 to face in the cup, but you wait. Rangers are going down!

I don't like the Leafs, but I hope they kick Montreal's ass Tuesday so I can laugh at my friends (again).

Biggest surprise of the year, IMO: The Flyers are doing great. They're currently 7th... not bad for a team who finished the season with 56 points for a shameful 30th position last season.

We already beat them twice, so beating them again shouldn't be too hard.

Leafs lost 8-0 to the Panthers.

That is symbolically the end for them this year.
