I think Brosnan wasn't a terrible Bond - he had a certain quality that lent him to the role - an arrogance that helped him carry off some fairly terrible scripts.

The Writers and producers were smart enough to realise they'd gone almost as far as they could with the old style Bond film - magnifying suns ray and more CGI than Counterstrike? - so it's a good move to go back to the start of the films.

IMO Goldeneye shows a human side to Bond that their no doubt trying to tap into again with Casino Royale. it showed betrayal and relationships without making it inaccessible. Bond is, after all, not meant to be a flawed hero - he's meant to be the Tuxed-Up Smart-alec with a line for every occasion and a seemingly uncrushable erection.

The best Bonds are those which acknowledge the best attributes of the character while making sure you see the rough edges as well. I'm highly looking foward to this film.

it was a great film, funny at times. my only gripes are: at times advertising was blatant (when they're talking about his watch on the train) and there's not enough of the DBS

As a huge James Bond / Aston guy, I've started my Casino Royale car collection with this- a Radio Shack DBS R/C. It has great detail for an R/C! I have four Corgi cars on order as well.

I think Coventrysucks has it right. Goldeneye was the best of the new bonds, and they got worse quickly after that. I thought Brosnan was an excellent Bond, and I wonder how Craig will do the job.

he strains his voice alot these days. I heard a concert played live on the radio, and if you heard it, you'd swear it wasnt him. pretty bad actually, but i still like his stuff. And w/ technology these days, it just seems they didnt spend the time to smooth it out.

Alot of muso's are like that these days. His times with both Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog really punished his voice. It is on and off really. I have seen numerous vids on youtube where his voice shines, namely the accoustic pieces where he isnt overpowered by Morello and Co. I really like Audioslave, its mainstream rock and hits the high notes when it counts, but im thinking they have just another two albums in them.

p.s. if Audioslave get a hold of the Bond them for live shows, they'll certainly make it into something special...

did you know that the aston martin dbs flip/role took the record for most roles in a car during the films filming. of course they used a pressurised ram. why didnt they just make the car understeer as it would in real life.

Because understeer doesn't look cool on film.

because then he would have hit the girl...

i saw it last night and to be honest i was disappointed. as an action film it was OK, but as a "bond" it was lacking in all areas. It never felt like a bond film...

It also wandered off in plot sometimes and the 5 minute explanation near the end of the film, just awful.
