BTW: Is this "new" Nordschleife still a conversion from GPL, like every other one?

most games take values of what a tyres does from a "slip curve graph" - this is always an area where accuracy is required, however there are some big anomlys in GTR2's, and they use the same graph for Longitudinal and Latituinal slip, which is a recipe for disaster due to the difference in loading

EDIT - Anal, yes. But i prefer realistic sims, nK Pro and LFS do it more than GTR does, if i were to want something less realistic (to me!) i would play NFS
Ever tried the NAP physics patch for GTR2?

You didn't know jakg is a former FIA GT driver?

    It's a patch which makes GTR2 feel like GTR1.

Jakg is a bit of a fanboy when it comes to LFS,

but its still pretty funny that he relies on data to tell him that it MIGHT possibly be not a 100% sim. Something according to him LFS trully is. But i wonder how he can tell that LFS is more of a sim in roadcars, when he hasnt even reached the age of legally driving a reall car.

GTR2 atleast has recognisable cars, original tracks, dynamic weather, and motec.

Nurburgring should be fun, but i rather keep the cars on a track they raced in reallife

The only problem with this track is trying to do a race with a nice number of cars. It's near impossible as they'll crash and bring out a full course yellow. Looks like I might have to disable that during this race.

Still very fun, esp. when you're lapping NGT cars in your Lambo.

You should've seen his post on Overclock.net about LFS when he claimed that he's driven a real car at high speed on an airfield before and thus reaching a conclusion that LFS is "more realistic", although I doubt his dad's car had what a race car has.......

He persisted in the theory that LFS is better ever since he heard from someone who came up about this tyres thing, and of course, with a new leader there are always followers.

And he has to at least attempt to destroy every GTR2 thread with the tyres thing, not only on UCP.

But all these "slip curve" are apprximations anyway.
THey do not ( and cannot ) reflect real world.
Not just in the minutia of dirt on track, undulations etc but in the MUCH more critical area of wheel camber/track which vary with compresion and lateral forces. We're not going to see this covered until a sim finally models EVERY component of a car suspension and THAT isn't going to happen till we can see dual quad core processors for $500

So in teh world of "approximations" then it is silly to argue the MATH of it and insteat the way the developer USES the information modelled to produce the "effect" of the car handling.

GTR2 is closer than LFS for real tracks real cars of those that are modelled of those I've driven in meeting the "driver experience".

My league is having a series of 2 hour events beginning Friday night on the 24 Hour version.

You can choose whatever car you want and it's basically 2 hours of qualy laps.

You are to yield immediately to the faster car and no passing on the right.

No he never said you were an idiot; just a fanboy.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
