Until I read a good review of either car I'll have to go for the 8C, because of Audi's reputation for crap steering. The R8 looks awsome, but I don't like Audi commandeering the Gallardo chassis...it's just not right.

Imagine something that looked like the 8C, back in the old days, is supposed to look "Cutting Edge", modern at its time, miles ahead of its competitors. right? Something like the original Merc 300SL Gullwing.

The conceptualisation of these two soon-to-be-produce cars is drastic.
Alfa Romeo resurrected something that glorifies their past; but Audi is taking a wholly different approach, it wants to leap ahead of its time, it wants a glimpse into the future.

I still prefer the 8C's looks, but i don't really buy these "Those-are-the-old-days" approach which is kinda overwhelming recently.

I'd pick the 8C, but I'll pay my fullest respect to R8's development team.

Very good comparison, although I have to go with the Alfa. It's just as Vaigra likes to say 'Sinister Beauty'.

Another reason i didn't picked the R8 is that they deliberately placed it lower specced than Gallardo. And there's this Audi TT, which is supposed to be an icon; now with the emergence of R8, TT becomes some lousy facelift.

    What Audi should've done:

Scrap this so called "New TT" and produce the R8 (Initially Audi Lemans) as the new TT, with a rear engine, ranging from 3.2Q till 4.2V8. Now with the conception of R8, there couldn't be a RS-TT. They put themselves into a rather embarressed situation, more embarassingly, slotting the otherwise very good 4.2V8 into the R8 instead of the phenomenal 5.0 V10.

I think it's too close to call, I can't decide.

Have to choose the 8C, even if I wasn't biased. The R8 looks good, but the Alfa... no words to describe it.

The Sinister Beauty was for my RS4 avatars, but I guess it applies to these two cars too
    I'd take the R8.
Audi humbles Porsche. A new dawn starts today.
