This is no different to the Koenigsegg accident. He just went onto the run-off and the hummocks in the grass took off the bumper, in the same way the Koenigsegg did. Nothing special here ... but then what do you expect? ... The Mirror could make paint drying sound like a life threatening event ...

Does this mean that we'll see the Murcielago LP640 in the new series?

This means you'll see the Murcielago LP640 go off the track onto the grass, and then hear Clarkson complain that it isn't good enough for their track.

While reality simply is that it is too dangerous to drive...

LP640 + very high speeds + very wet conditions = not exactly a recipe for success

Does the Mirror report on every off track activity of a professional driver in the UK? Nobody got hurt and only a car was damaged. Why is this news? Doesn't the Mirror have a celebrity or royal to stalk?
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Top Gear is a "celebrity" of sorts.

Anyway, this is "news" because this largely unexpected, given the circumstances, and inconsequential incident clearly reinforces just how dangerous and irresponsible Top Gear is, and how all cars should be banned immediately.

Anyway - this just leaves Clarkson the only "uninjured" TG presenter after May's devastating high speed accident, unless you count his dodgy hip.
    Thanks for all the fish

Did they report the CCX crash? and if not, why report this one? Just because of one small crash at 288 mph?

    /damn news always spoiling everything

It wasn't at 288mph, hell the car only goes 205.

I believe he's reffering to the Jet-car crash and that if it wasn't for the jet-car crash, this one wouldn't be reported.

It happens, push a car to it's limits eventually its going to push back some more than others, Stig is a good driver, but I believe Clarkson will bitch for a good 30-40 days on how it was not good enough.
