Corvette Z06 vs. BMW M5...engine comparo

I didn't choose the M5 engine. Read all of my post and not just the first line of it. I found it funny because on another forum I go to, the mentality is exactly the opposite of IWAARS6's.

I love Euro cars and Yank cars in pretty much equal measure. I appreciate the vicious, hard-edged nature of the BMW M3, but by the same measure adore the simple entertainment provided by a large piece of cu. in. and RWD (say, a Monaro, or an old Camaro SS).

Haven't you got any Vipers around your way? More proof that the V10 isn't that much of an awesome engine...!

I AM my bread and butter. I am the reason I post on this forum. I do not care if havoc is created or not. I created this thread to seek people's opinion on the comparison between two engines. People siding with the LS7 has stated numerous reasons why they chose it over the M5's engine. People supporting the M5's engine have been "flaky". I asked for a summary or reasons from M5 engine supporters. Where is the "havoc"? You, and the people who responded like you, are encouraging havoc. If you or anyone else feels I am trying to create havoc, I'd prefer you ignore me and let someone else with a answer to my question respond.

Your high-revving answer satisfies me. Can we stop the flaming now?

Could be a person that likes a high revving engine with that kind of power delivery(and yea, that can actually make a big difference)...

I have to say though, that you're trying to compare 2 very different engines in 2 very different cars which makes any objective comparation very hard indeed.
