The 575. In blue, with paddle shift, with red leather, with red brake calipers and ceramic brake discs. Please.

However, if it was the Ferrari 550 vs. the BMW M5 E39... I'd find it hard to decide. Funny old world.
At first looking at title of the thread I though the M5 would be the E39. Then I'd have had a hard time deciding...

If I drove about in a 575 everybody would (rightly) assume that I am a total wanker.
The M5 has as much performance as I could want in a much more discreet vehicle, most people wouldn't look twice (or perhaps once) except the occasional trainspotter who would say 'ahh .. an M5, nice'

Gimme the Ferri, it'd be a great compliment to my pretty quick 4-door.

I know.... Especially with that handling package with ceramic brakes. Best of both worlds. It's probably amongst the fastest hardtop convertible, although the SL 65 AMG or Bentley Continental GT might also be just as fast.

But they'd be more likely to think, "God, it's another 520d with an M-sport kit"

The SL55 AMG could be as exciting as the Ferrari though.

You forgot that V8, which arguably sound a lot better than the Maranello's V12...

The Ferrari 575 M Maranello is ugly, but I'd choose it over the M5 mostly for value reasons and the slight excitement advantage.

    Ferrari 575 M Maranello....yuck.
