Codemasters have said repeatedly that they think Warthog did the wrong thing in making RBR the way it is
i doubt that any version of CMR is ever going to attempt to be as serious a sim as RBR tried to be
i enjoy CMR , & i find the flames that fans of both games post to be funny . but the fact is CMR tries to be an easy fun Rally Game . not a serious sim
(btw , RBR was the first rally game that Warthog ever made . not bad for a 1st attempt! . . . . . imagine how good a sequal could have been)
RBR2 (if it ever comes out) should be a lot better graphically and gameplay wise than RBR.
I don't think there will ever be a RBR2.. We need a new rally sim. RBR is getting too old, despite new cars appearing everyday..
Oh.. and I also don't believe CMR Dirt will replace RBR in the heart of sim racers.
out next month can't wait. the videos and screens look fantastic. really fun gameplay. Ive never missed a colin mcrae title and i dont plan to miss this one. 360 controller to play it with on my pc

I'm a little dissapointed in that DIRT doesnt have any fords in. each and every mcrae game before DIRT has had many ford rally cars since mcrae has been quite involved in racing for them in past year. Anyone know why they arent in the game? seeing as the game is made for america for the first time i wouldve thought ford wouldve thrived on the chance for some publicising.
I'm getting this game with my 360 this week, is it any good?

Motion & Emotion
Colin's Escort IS in the game Mind you it's 75% Subaru
I could just hear the conversation.
Ford: Hello Colin, are we going to be featured in DiRT ?
Colin: Don't know, am I getting my job back ?
Ford: No.
Colin: Same answer then Now eff off and leave me alone !!!
AS a game it's good. Not brilliant, but will pass the odd hour here or there. Prolly best on the 360

The codriver sounds really annoying. What happened to Nicky Grist?
the game has been americanised by codemasters because it is the first game in the series to be taken to the US. Since the US doesnt really get much rallying, theyve incorporated truck racing, hill climbs, and buggy races to give the game more appeal to the yanks. Therefore the friendly voice of Nicky Grist is replaced with Travis Pastrana. It is annoying for brits, having their rally game turned on its head and somehow seems a bit disrespectful to Colin himself. But with all the new features, it all works very well. Its not as good a 'rally' game as Colin Mcrae 04 but the graphics somehow make up most of the time.
For example, the cars run on a central pivot (instead of an individual pivot for each wheel a.k.a realism) which Colin Mcrae 2005 had cured. For some reason they now use a central pivot which really takes away alot from the realism of the game. Its great fun. The campaign is exciting and the new way of unlocking cars is alot more involved but the mcrae series has definitely become an arcade racer. Which still lays the rally crown on Richard Burns rally and the mcrae predecessors.
BTW the game is great on a 360 controller. I have the game on PC (added bonus: better graphics) In fact, gaming forums have named this the best DX9 game on the market. I'd never use a keyboard for a driving game, but that goes without saying. this game is still worth the money.
