    Mustang America

OK ...now I know this is a lo res picture to start with, but that is just the point here, I wanted to show you guys the kinda thing that actually sells for us, Here we have a guy who sends us a picture, we then mod the car as he wants, & print it out on artpaper or canvas or he buys an art car racewrap to match the design

    That is all it takes.

It took maybe an hour to do this, maybe....I get $100 bucks for the studio for that....more if he buys bigger like a racewrap for this car would be between $1000 - 1500, anyway that is how I make a living , jus thought you all may be interested ???

Sound cold ?....looks easy ?...bad quality ?...it is NOT.

People LOVE THIS STUFF, & sorry but I do too.

BUT keep lookin cuz what your thinkin of is just a few more posts away.....

Depth was probably the wrong word to use. The original picture, the flag doesnt look like its wrapping around the body. It just looks flat.

OK , I see what your sayin, prb due to the lo res image and shriking the flag to fit that size in part. Still in the first one it comes across just fine for the average dude. Plus and your probably seeing this more actually, the billowing contrasts with the lines of the car too.

I think there is a difference in the types of work people here expect and what your customers expect.

Here they like to see high level skill which means few flaws, artistic style work, and stuff that can pass for a real photo.

Your customers just want to see what their car would look like and dont expect something to look exactly like a photo.

So it seems to me that people give you a hard time b/c you come off like you think your one of the best at it, while you may be at your place of work or what your customers have in mind, as for what the chopping goes for around here its not hitting the mark. At least that is what i have gathered from the recent posts ive read the past few days.

No, it doesn't have to do with that at all. It has to do with that there is no shading implying there is shape that the flag vinyl is wrapped around. Tool around with opacity and layer styles and you should be able to fix that. Compression doesn't mean anything in this case.

Ok, I will tool around with those options, THX.

& yes they are definately two distinct approches to what I am doing with car pictures, most of my sales tho come from racing art painting pictures, not from photorealistic chops as that tends to be more into design rather than race art. However, we are embarking upon a series of specific racewrap designs for GM cars & trucks which will be made from the actual design templates provided by GM for each specific model, so that is my reason for having a real interest in the photorealistic chopping here.

--those would be like 16-18 inch wide street/strip Drag Slicks, where the front tires are maybe 6 inches wide - all done for stright line speed on the Drag Strip, would not wanna make any quick turns with a setup like that tho !!!!
