    Leaked: Lincoln MKR concept

A six-speed automatic with manual shifting sends the power to the rear wheels — good for a zero to 60 times of 5.3 seconds. The MKR runs on E85 ethanol fuel. Overall weight is 4075 lbs, and pricing is expected to be over $50,000, if a production version is made.

Too expensive, but it looks good. Ford shouldn't position this car directly against the Lexus SC430 or Cadillac XLR. They'd manage to sell a quite a few if it's priced well below the competition. Instead of a complicated TT-V6, a refined version of the modular V8 would be a far better choice.

Just another overdone concept that'll never see production.

Maybe it's showcasing Lincoln's future 'look'?

It's a 4-door saloon. How can it positioned be against 2-door folding metal roof convertibles?

proportions are superb, exterior details aren't bad cept for the hippo nostrils... interior looks opulent, if a touch over done...

swage line running along the side reminds me of the latest A6 (and i mean the line that starts in line with the front wheel that kicks up as it heads towards the rear wheels)

and to PervAdv: how would the V8 be better than a twin turbo V6, there is plenty of power and torque in the V6 to begin with, and unless Ford made the V6 heavy, it would be lighter than the equivalent powered V8. And with the lighter weight of the V6 in the front, the handling should be a lot better as well...

I was thinking mostly price wise. Also, the MKR is more of a sporting 4-door (CLS) that'll likely attract the demographic that be shopping SC430s and XLRs. They may be swayed to the MKR as it'll have a similar appeal; personal luxury vehicle.

If the engine is coming from the existing lineup of Ford engines, chances are the V6 is a Duratec V6 or the bigger iron-block V6 found in the Mustang. The Duratec is lighter than the V8 option, as its aluminum, but the iron six is heavier than Ford Modular V8s.

A V8 with a new DOHC head, preferably on the 5.4 L could make the target HP and be a simpler more elegant option than an overly complex and unproven turbo engine.

When operating on E85, the turbo boost can be increased for improved performance, something that is not possible with a N/A engine.

They could have Jaguar's or Volvo's V8 and there's no need to develop a new engine.
