AAARRRRGGGGHHH!!! I just can't decide! The Lancia would win if it was RWD but then it'd change ther very nature of the car but then the Alfa doesn't have that engine...

Anyway, the Giulia Sprint is still one of the most beautiful cars ever, IMO.

Alfa Romeo- It's cooler. Plus, I've always wanted a Giulia Sprint GTA after that License test in Gran Turismo 4.

I know, tough decision. And this is only the start....In my case the Lancia wins by a very little margin and if it was rear driven it would be close to motoring perfection.
Hugo, the Variante 1016 (it has 132bhp as opposed to the standard HF 1600, Fanalone and Fanalino, 115bhp) is very rare indeed with only about 15 made.

Great comparo & either of them would be bliss on wheels imo. I've driven a hot 105 and loved it, but no pre-Fiat Lancias alas, so I can but guess. However I can't shake the impression that they (Lancia) are a cut above Alfas, both in driving precision and quality of engineering, and I especially love the purity of line of the snub-nose HF
As an aside, thanks for including the (remakably low) weight specs. Both of these cars remind that 'less is more' and despite being almost double the capacity and a size-class above, they are surprisingly close to the featherweight 660kg of my old Hilman Imp GT (tiny car w/ alloy 875cc engine)

Wow, for once a choice that I'd actualy had to think about.... for a long time to! I went for the Lancia in the end because it's probobly more to my taste.... I have driven a few of the Alfa's but never a Fulvia, so it's a guess. I have quite often raced Alfa's in my Autobianchi on the track and I haven't got problems keeping up or even overtaking them with mt frontwheel driven litle car, so I think the Fulvia could do a nice job on a racetrack too....
I just have a huge weakness for Italian cars and especially the older versions.

The Lancia by a hair. I really love both of these, so it was particularly difficult. There is something about the V4 and Lancia's brilliant use of FWD-something I rarely praise-that gives the Lancia slightly more appeal

Even though Lancia has a real charm of its own, I choose Alfa.
