Because this is no Alfa. However if you look at the Maserati Coupe Gransport...

Well as far as I know the Alfa uses the Maserati floorpan with front engined rear wheel drive and transaxle gearbox layout, but the body is carbonfibre (the car weights 1350kg IIRC) and the engine, though derived from the previous 4.2-litre V8, is also new.

CAR Magazine drove the 8C Spyder. Reviews are very very, promising. These are things we enthusiasts would turn to in order to gain more understanding, hence i believe consumer-grade-friendly shortlists of cotys aren't relevant to us.

I think that's not necesarily the case. People often think that bigger the figures are the better the car is. As such in enthusiast-voted surveys usually the most expensive, most powerful and fastest supercars or luxury cars appear on top. They simply can't understand that a 12k € 5-door supermini can be greater than 150k € coupes.

I think you have to remember that most of this forum's members can't drive yet, so the best car is always the one that pulls the biggest numbers. I'd prefer a Suzuki Swift Sport over the Panda 100hp.

I wouldn't, but in my opinion both make for better COTY contenders that some cars that actually are in the top 10.
