The 1GGTE does respond to minor mods, the W58 are fairly expensive compared to the W55, we have run both in the race cars and the W55 has coped well so far, it has slightly shorter ratios than the 58. We are running close to 230rwkw under race conditions and havent broke one yet, just the nylon bush where the gear stick locates.

Both the 55 and 58 seem to have on hell of a reputation with enthusiasts around the world, some time ago I heard the 58 handling upwards of +600HP
House said the perfect woman was a man...now im all confused!!

We run 3 boxes between 2 cars, just get a freshen every year and they last the season, trust me 10 laps at full pace = a lot of abuse, we have never had an input shaft break or anything like that and they have 400nm of torque shock loading them, they are certainly over engineered.
