X1 vs. Tzero vs. Tesla vs. Venturi

This comparison is between 4 electric cars. The first is the Wrightspeed X1, based off the Atom, this car will sadly never be put into production. Second is the AC Propulsion's tzero. Several parts of this vehicled made it into both the Wrightspeed and the Tesla Roadster. Third is the Tesla Roadster. This car is the most readily available to the public due to its realitivly low cost, and its larger production. Last but not least we have the Venturi Fétish. This car is on the Forbes 10 most expensive cars of 2006, coming just behind the CCR. Well, which is best?

Where did you hear that the X1 won't be reaching production?

If I had to pick one of the four and stick with it, it would have to be the Tesla. The X1 would be a great toy, but with the Tesla you could actually get away with using it as an only car, daily driver, etc. Plus it's still totally awesome.

I very much agree with Egg Nog, kudos to Tesla for getting the price down to "acceptable" levels as well. Still keeping up with the others in terms of performance and range.

The Tesla takes it, better price, a 250bhp eletric Elise, what more could you want?

Definitely the Tesla. Visually the best, actual possibility of people owning it, good range, good horsepower, very light. There's a reason this one is actually being produced :P

I want an option in the poll which says "I need a petrol engine under my bonnet".

When we run out of petrol I'll be happy runing a hydrogen burning engine. I'm sorry I just don't find electric motors exciting.

They aren't, but given these options, which do you find the least dull.

I'm undecided between the Tesla and the Wrightspeed. Probably the Tesla since it's the most down to earth one.

That was my logic. The torque doesn't hurt either, but they all have that going for them.

The X1 was built as a prototype and concept car, the main reason Wrightspeed produced this is for a stepping stone into their production car.

I for one cant wait. Anyone have any guesses on the chassis they will use?

The weight of the Tesla must be wrong. Maybe that's the weight without the batteries and the electric motor. It weighs about 1100 kg IIRC

EDIT: The weight is 1140 kg according to wikipedia. The 990 lbs figure posted is apparently the weight of the battery alone

BTW, I'd vote for the Fetish because it's the best one in terms of performance, image, beauty etc. I can't afford any of them, so I might as well vote for the best one
