Dragonforce is amazing! Over 200bpm in Through the fire and the flames and they do an incredible solo in almost every song!

    1 word- Deathklok

Skwisgaar Skwigelf- the fastest guitarist in the world, but he has Musics dyslexia.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

Amen. For me it's about feeling. That indescribable quality that you get from some music. Jimi.

for me it's about both feeling and the abilities. hendrix was a great personality, but be honest, he was nothing special when it comes to playing guitar, apart from tossing on the floor with it or burning or rapping it.

that's why it's malsteen for me, vai is too much 80's-ish and other just don't have same abilities or feeling

Slash has an awesome style but I think the best overall would be either John Petrucci, Steve Vai, or Satch. All 3 can play extremely fast and cleanly, but all 3 also have slower songs where they play with a lot of emotion.

But it makes a good guitarist, and that's what we're talking about here.

Nonsense! How can you say being a good guitarist is not the same as being a good musician?!

Accuracy and speed on the fretboard are effectively a test of physical strength, agility, stamina etc. Being a good musician is about communication, creativity and artistry. Being able to play with speed is a good skill, and a useful part of any musician's armory, but it is only one component of what makes a good musician.

No, the creativity comes during the writing of the song. You don't have to be a good songwriter to be a good guitarist. They're two very different things.

I was going to say Eddie Van Halen, possibly Wilco Johnson though. He is something else he really is.

Honestly I don't pay much attention to 'good' guitar playing. One thing I've noticed is a band is tons better with an ok guitar player and a great songwriter than with a great guitar player and an ok songwriter.
